A BALTIMORE WAREHOUSE FIRE Specially written for FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING. On Thursday, March 19, the top floor of the wholesale hardware warehouse of Henry Keidel & Co., at 405-07 West German street was destroyed by a fire that for a time threatened the clothing manufactory of L. Greif & Co., the straw hat manufactory of Brigham & Hopkins Co., and the clothing establishment of Hamburger Bros. The Keidel building is six stories high, and when the fire in the top story was discovered, it seemed as if a bucket brigade could extinguish it. Time was lost thereby till the automatic alarm was sounded. By the time the firemen arrived, the fire had spread all over the top floor, and the flames were bursting out of the window and attacking the cornice of the Greif factory.
