Sprinkler Losses in the West.

Issue 15 and Volume 43.

Sprinkler Losses in the West. According to the New York Journal of Commerce. there has been a “notable number of sprinklered losses in the West recently in plants in process of equipment with automatic sprinklers. It is claimed that in no case was the fire due to the process of installation, and that it is a mere coincidence that in so many fires the buildings would have been protected by sprinklers within a few days. The heavy loss in the paper mill of the Falls Manufacturing company at Oconto Falls. Wis., came only three days before the sprinkler equipment was to have been made effective, while the bad fire in the plant of the Dayton Motor Car company at Dayton, Ohio, occurred during the process of installation, followed by the loss of the feed mill of the Woollier Distiller company at Peoria, Ill., which was also being equiped.”
