Ill., retains its option for the purchase of the plant of the Mattoon Clear Water company, which expired on May 22. Frank A. Foster, of Boston, has contracted to excavate a trench and lay 1,700 ft. of water pipe in Wellington Hill street at about $1,800. Of the old water mains at Puyallup, Wash., some have been laid for eighteen years, and all, except those recently installed, are leaking.…
