Fire Caused by Electricity. The electrical storm of June 23 caused fires which destroyed three valuable oil refiners, with 100,000 barrels of oil in western and northern Pennsylvania—namely, at Bradford, Warren and Washington. It took nearly twenty-four hours to get each blaze under control, and for a wide area round the burned tanks there is nothing but blackened and smoking earth and charred vegetation. The loss is quite $500,000, of which $100,000 was caused at Warren where two big tanks of oil and benzine were exploded. Other five adjoining tanks were burned, with thousands of barrels of oil.
