New York State Water News. A water famine is no longer feared at Clinton, as ten new springs have been opened up and added to the reservoir. The supply is said to be the best since the installation of the system, twenty years ago. The water main 400 ft. long connecting Cork Centre reservoir with the old outlet main from the Clod Brook reservoir, has been completed at Johnstown. Under this arrangement it will be possible to draw water from either source, an automatic valve having been placed at a point below the junction of the mains, which will regulate the pressure according to the needs of the city, allowing water to be drawn from both reservoirs at the same time or shutting off one completely.
