This included a description of the installation now nearing completion at McKeesport, Pa., a town of 50,000 to 75,000 population. Mr. Potter first took up a discussion of the character of the water at McKees- port the foulest in the United States, according to the published statements of the United States Geological Survey, lie then took up the question of the endeavors made to store a potable supply of water for McKeesport from other sources before having recourse to the purification of this water, fie showed that the Monongahela supply at the present time is rapidly approaching the condition of the Youghiogheny river, due to the opening up of coal mines…
