Fires at Sandusky. At Sandusky, Ohio, there have been ninety five fires to which the department was called from January 1 to November 30 this year. There were but sixty-five fires the first eleven months in last year; but the increase this season was not without cause. The dry weather this fall ran the total up quite high, and a great many were grass fires. The ninetylive alarms lo not include the number of false alarms to which the department responded. Additional apparatus has lately been received, and the department is in a better condition than ever to light fires. The No. 2 steamer is now located in the West end, and a team of hones is available to haul it.
