Y., has installed 3 additional alarm boxes. Franklin, Ia., wiped out by fire. It had no protection and was all wooden. Springfield, Ohio, will probably use its fire hydrants for fire-purposes only. Akcley, Minn., has appointed O. L. Lunt chief of the fire department. H. J. Truschus is now chief of the Dickinson, N. Dak., fire department. Ft. Wayne, Ind., has received the new 85-foot ladder truck for No. 3 station. Bristol, Conn., has contracted with a local concern for a chemical engine. The sixty volunteer firemen of Oneida, N. Y„ are organizing a benefit association. At Jackson, Miss., the new ladder truck, with a modern chemical engine attachment, has been delivered. The board of public…
