Syracuse Water Report. Syracuse, N. Y., has recently added new territory to the city. It includes the Huntley tract on the North Side and Matson avenue and a portion of South Salina street on the South Side. To provide this territory with water service an item of $12,000 was placed in the city water budget for 1908. During the year 4 miles of permanent mains and 2 miles of temporary mains with some 800 service-connections from main to curb have been added. The completion of the sanitary inspection system for Skaneateles lake was another expense not provided for in 1908. which was met by the bureau without special appropriation. In reviewing this subject, Supt. Beebe states that, upon his last inspection of the lake and its watersheds, he found that two-thirds of all sources of contamination had been removed, and he expresses the belief that this year he will be…
