North Dakota Fire News. FARGO, N. DAK., Feb. 13, 1909. H. L. Read, secretary of the North Dakota Firemen’s association, has been informed that the Senate committee, to whom was referred the Firemen’s bill, has decided to recommend it for passage. Not a dissenting voice was raised against the bill, which will be reported to the senate as soon as the State Fair matter is disposed of. No one seems to doubt that the measure will he placed on the statutes, as the bill has many strong friends in both houses. Brietly, it provides relief in departments maintained on a salary-basis for all firemen who have been injured or disabled while in service, for pensions for superanuated firemen and for relief for the widows and orphans of men who have lost their lives while on duty at a fire.
