METERAGE At Canandaigua, N. Y., there are 1,511 services, all of which are metered. According to a recent statement of John Wetzel, head of the water department at Spokane, Wash., “every man on a meter south of Twenty-ninth avenue, in the Manito Park section, wants to remain on a meter, and, practically, every man in the entire district has a meter in his house. But these meter people object to paying a minimum meter rate of $2, and, to accommodate them and encourage the use of meters, I have recommended to the council that a minimum rate of 50 cents a month be charged. I understand the council has referred my request to the committee of the whole of the council.
