INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE ENGINEERS The thirty-seventh annual convention of the International Association of Fire Chiefs convened at Grand Rapids, Michigan, on August 17, 1909, the sessions being held in the Evening Press Hall. First Day—Morning Session. The first day, morning session, opened at 9 :30 o’clock a. m. ‘ At 9 o’clock the Ramona band took position in front of the Morton House, convention headquarters, and most ably rendered a number of selections. Promptly at 9:3() o’clock the line of parade formed in front of the hotel, and, headed by the band, marched to the Evening Press Hall. On arrival at the convention hall it was found most tastefully decorated with the national colors and dotted here and there with potted plans and cut flowers.
