Forty-first Annual Convention at Albany. It is certainly worth while and commendable on the part of the commissioners of public safety at Albany the way in which they treat the annual inspection, parade and review of the police and fire departments of their city. The whole occasion is planned with the view of instilling in the minds of the city guardians that theirs is a serious and worthy work and that the city appreciates their services in a fine way which their salary does not exactly express. Every air of dignity and due consideration appears to he accorded the occasion. The com missioners provide suitably engrossed invitations by way of calling the attention of dignitaries to the inspection. Programs, including general orders, parade formation and the route of march, are also provided, and these, too, are of well ap pearing excellence.
