Iowa Fire Protection Association. Iowa has a fire prevention association, ortanized for the purpose of remedying, where possible, conditions that may result in fire losses. Last week thirty-five members of this association assembled at Des Moines for their first annual meeting and planned a vigorous campaign of inspection throughout the various towns and cities of the state. This inspection work is to be in direct charge of the executive committee, which will appoint field men in groups of six and eight and send them to every centre of importance in Iowa. They will he followed by the law and ordinance committee, which will see that the work of the inspection committee is followed up with practical results in the way of city ordinances. If the association accomplishes no more than to direct public attention to causes of preventable fires, it will have effected a great deal in the right direction…
