Factory Fire in New Orleans. Although the fire department of New Orleans succeeded in confining a fire in the factory of the Crescent Bed Company, in that city, on the 27th November, to the premises in which it originated, the building and contents were destroyed, causing a loss on buildings of $29,000 and on contents of $65,000. The building, which was four stories in height, with a frontage of 6.5 feet, was 230 feel deep, with a two-story annex 135 feet deep, was built about seven years ago, and according to the dimensions given, covered an area on Orange and Tochonpetoulas streets, of 65×335 feet. It was constructed of soft red brick, without interior partion walls, sprinklers or any lire protection.
