THE NEW FIREBOAT AT SEATTLE The Seattle Post-Intelligencer, of January 15, contains the following statement of Chief Harry W. Bringhurst anent the taking over of the new fireboat, Duwamish, by the board of works of that city: At a price in excess of $125,000 the board of public works accepted the new fireboat Duwamish Friday morning acting on the recommendation of Superintendent F. W. Grant. Chief Harry W. Bringhurst, of the fire department, submitted a protest against the acceptance of the boat, placing on the record the various points on which he has vainly requested consideration since the first contract for the vessel was let. Chief Cringhurst’s letter will be copied and a duplicate sent to each member of the board for consideration.
