Fire in a Philadelphia Storage.

Issue 12 and Volume 47.

Fire in a Philadelphia Storage. The illustration herewith, made from an original photograph for this journal, shows a storage building in Philadelphia which was recently gutted by fire. It will be seen that the structure is the usual ordinary cheap fashion, and it speaks well for the masonry and brickwork that the walls were left intact after sustaining so fierce a blaze caused by the inflammable contents of the building. The Mantua storage was located at West Philadelphia, and contained a considerable amount of goods when attacked by the lire that completely cleaned it out, notwithstanding the strenuous efforts of the lire department to stop it in the early stages.
