NEW CENTRAL STATION FOR HORNELL The new central fire station for Hornell will be on the main street, 60 feet by 60 feet clear, with four exit doors for apparatus. Back of this is the stable 60 feet by 25 feet, with eight single stalls and one box stall. All stable partitions are made to be removed as fast as the present trucks and engines are replaced by auto-apparatus. At each side a flight of stairs leads to the floor above and on the left side a flight leads to the basement. Back about eight feet on each side is a single door for the use of the men. Near the center of the rear is a carriage wash with ten-foot doors at each end so that the apparatus returning from tires can be driven in from the rear, cleaned and brought forward into the main room.
