Proposed New System for Ellensburg. The city council of Ellensburg, Wash., has instructed the city engineer to make surveys and to submit estimates on the construction of a new water system, taking the water out of Lake Clealum, 28 miles northwest of Ellensburg. The estimated cost of the new system exceeds $300,000. The owners of the present waterworks plant agree to sell to the city the several miles of pipe line now installed, and to also bring the water from Nanum creek in a pipe line, the intake to be established at a point 12 miles from the city. The company also agrees to build a reservoir two miles from the city and to install a mammoth filter at the reservoir.
