Fire Report of Manchester, England. Frederic Baylis, chief officer of the Fire Brigade in Manchester, England, has forwarded to FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING a copy of his annual report, covering the operations of his department during 1910. From the report the following facts arc taken: The total number of alarms of fire which the Brigade have attended during the past year has been 508, a decrease of 16 on the previous year; of these, 440 were fires, and 68 were false or chimney alarms The total loss was estimated at $312,000. and the value of the property at risk $17,179,330. Eighteen fires were attended within the limits of the outside districts protected by the Fire Brigade. At these fires the total loss wuis estimated at $20,800, and $554,945 was assessed to have been at risk. As compared with last year, there has been a total increase of $6,709,095 in the…
