Salt Lake City Buys Webb Motor Apparatus. It looks as though Salt Lake City is destined to soon take front rank in the possession of equipment for fighting fires. This is evidenced by the ordering of the Webb triple combination chemical, pump, hose and ladder auto apparatus to be built especially for this department by the Webb Motor Fire Apparatus Company, of St Louis. A picture of the machine as it will appear when completed is presented herewith. The specifications were agreed upon, the contract signed by Mayor John S. Bransford and Fire Chief W. H. Glore and the order was mailed some days ago. Work on this new apparatus will be rushed and Chief Glore expects the new machine, which represents an outlay of $8,500, to be in service in Salt Lake by June 1.
