Filtration. When the new plant is built, the pumping station at Wormleysburg will be closed, but it has not yet been decided whether the company will sell the structure or keep it and the machinery for emergency purposes. Samples of river water taken Feb. 27 have been analyzed by City Bacteriologist Nelson at Binghamton, N. Y., and found to contain sewage bacteria in the raw or river water, but to be free from traces of the bacteria in the filtered water, the efficiency of the filtering plant being rated at 98.27 pep cent. A large force of workmen is engaged in constructing the new $30,000 filtration plant for the Temple, Texas, waterwork system, which is owned by the city-.
