Pumping Engine Notes. The McPherson, Kan., water and electric light commissioners have received the new 250-horse-power Corliss engine for the water and light plant, and it is being installed. The belt for the engine connecting with the new larger generator is 2 feet wide and 80 feet long, specially prepared and is water and steam proof. The new plant, thoroughly reorganized, will be fully in operation in a few days. 1 he Fort Dodge, la., city council has accepted tinnew electrically driven pump which enables the municipal waterworks to supply all the water the city demands from the artesian well. The new pump forces water into an 80-foot shaft, from which the big pump forces the water through the mains. The city now requires about 1,5200,0440 gallons daily.
