PRESENTATION AT LOS ANGELES Probably no city in the United States of the size of Los Angeles, Cal., has made such rapid strides in the matter of fire protection as this ustling place Within a comparatively short time the most modern apparatus has been installed, and it may be said that the city is fully equipped to meet all emergencies that may arise from fire for years to come. Several new and handsome houses have also been erected, and there are others nearing completion. The house shown in the illustration is one of the latest additions to the department. It is located at Hewitt and Second streets, and is equipped with an engine and water tower, both horse-drawn, the companies being Engine No. 21 and Water Tower No. 1.
