Prescott. of the fire department at Waco, Texas, shows 289 fire alarms; insurance paid out on buildings. $47,430; insurance paid out on contents. $85,326.60; total, $132,756.60; insurance on buildings. 400; insurance on contents, $296,672; total insurance where actual fire occurred. $696,072. The manual force is divided into two classes, permanent and call men. The permanent force consists of our chief, two assistant chiefs, six engineers, one chemical engineer, two hook and ladder drivers, six engine drivers, seven hose wagon drivers, one chemical driver, two pipemen. one tower watchman, three extra men, making permanent force thirty-four men.
