Waterworks News Items Geneva, N. Y., has commenced improvements to its waterworks that will cost $165,000. A patent has been issued to the Eddy Valve Company, of Waterford, N. Y., by assignment from John Knickerbocker, inventor, for drainage devices for fire hydrants. The Creston (Ia.) Water Works Company wants to sell its plant to the city of Creston. It has submitted to Mayor Reynolds a proposition to sell for $100,000. The plant has never paid, and is in possession of the bondholders. William I. Van Arnum, of Waterford, N. Y., a graduate chemist and bacteriologist, has accepted the position of general manager of the local municipal filtration plant. The appointment was made on the recommendation of Dr. William P. Mason, of Troy. The Orange, N. J., Water Company, which supplies Glen Ridge with water, has accepted the offer of the borough council to pay $40,000 for the plant within the…
