To Serve Fifteen Years for Arson. Barausch Schneider, a saloonkeeper, 47 years old, living at 110 West 137th street, was sentenced last week by Judge Dike in the county court, Brooklyn, to serve an indeterminate term at Sing Sing of from 15 to 30 years for arson. The motive for the incendiary was an insurance policy of $3,500, which Schneider hoped to collect. In passing sentence Judge Dike, said to Schneider: “After a protracted trial, the jury has found you guilty of arson in (he first degree. About 3 o’clock in the morning of September 19 last, you and another man were seen to come out of those premises on Sixth avenue, a frame building, and within a few minutes after you were arrested, the tire burst forth from the cellar, the rapidity of its spreading being explained later by the presence of gasolene saturated paper and boards.
