Pontiac to Motorize. Should the bids be in anyway reasonable, Pontiac, Mich., will follow the example of other cities in the state and provide itself with automobile fire apparatus. At a meeting of the city commission Mayor Lounsbury directed Clerk Groesbeck to advertise for proposals for an automobile chemical and hose wagon. The need of the city for some motor-driven apparatus has become pronounced. Fire Chief Austin first brought the matter to the attention of the commission and he advocated either the purchase of an automobile truck or the building of a fire, station in the south end. The commission inspected the automobile equipment of the Flint fire department at a recent visit there, and was much impressed with its efficiency.
