New Station for Auto Apparatus in Augusta. The accompanying photograph is the first of the new fire station (Auto Company No. 6) at Augusta, Ga. This station is one of the most complete in style and finish of any station in the South. The building is situated on the southwest corner of Allen-Park, one of the most beautifully situated parks in the city. The station is of natural colored concrete with rich red tiled roof and with green grass and trees surrounding it, and will be the most attractive ornament that could be placed in the park. Much commendation is due the authorities for substituting for the commonly seen engine house, the present ornamental and attractive structure. The building has a touch of the Roman ancient architecture, with its many arches and pilasters of conventionalized Roman cornices, the hose and nozzle on each pillaster forming the volutes, and the fireman’s…
