His name is Brophy—Thomas P. Brophy, and his specialty is the detection of that most dangerous kind of criminal—the firebug. Officially, Brophy is known as the Fire Marshal of the borough of Brooklyn and Queens. a district by-the-way, that includes some 210 square miles.
