Fire Department Doings The estimated losses by fire in the United States and Canada, reported for the week ending October 30, amounted to $3,231,000. Sherwood, N. D., has just received a supply of new fire apparatus. Moorehead, Minn., has elected L. Borgen chief of the fire department. A fire prevention congress will be held in St. Paul, November 8. North Catasuqua, Pa., has just dedicated a new fire headquarters building. The firemen of Logansport, Ind., have started a campaign for higher salaries. Henry Barens has been elected chief of the West Bend, Wis., fire department. Henry Dietrich is the newly appointed chief of the Cassville, Wis., fire department. The work of installing a new tire alarm system at Bogota, N. J., will begin shortly. The fireman’s Belief Association, of Boston, will hold its annual banquet January 5.
