Hose Contest at Plainville, Mass. An indoor hose race, in which 17 teams of two men each were entered, was held last evening at the fire station in Plainville., Mass. The teams which took part in the contest represented the fire departments in Attleboro, North Attleboro, Mansfield, Wrentham, Medway, Milford and Plainville. The starting line was a row of beds, where those entered awaited the alarm from the gong. At the sound of the bell the contestants dressed, carried their line of hose to the hydrant, made their couplings and raced for the finish line. The contest was a close one. and all of the teams made good time. First place went to Thomas Doolin and Lester Keys of North Attleboro, in 13 2-5 seconds; second place to Daniel White and Jacob Bliek of North Attleboro, with 13 4-5 seconds, and third place to Swanson and Winter of Wrentham, with…
