Slingerlands Wants Municipal Water Plant Learning that a large water corporation, which has absorbed a number of promising water systems in different sections of the country, had recently made a proposition to purchase the Suburban Water Company,, which supplies several communities near Albany, N. Y., and that the offer was received with considerable favor by the stockholders, several citizens of Slingerlands, who are interested in the further development of the territory served by this system and in securing lower rates for consumers, have induced the local stockholders of the company to hold up the proposition and give the people a chance to consider the purchase and operation of the plant as a municipal system. Acting on this suggestion, the stockholders of the company passed a resolution giving the town of Slingerlands a 90-day option on the property.
