Convention of Michigan Firemen There were more than 200 chiefs in attendance at the 38th annual convention of the Michigan State Firemen’s Association, held in Kalamazoo on June 5. President H. R. Delfs, of Lansing, who has been at the head of the organization for five years, presided over the deliberations of the convention in his usual graceful, diplomatic and satisfactory manner. Mayor C. B. Hays welcomed the visitors, and fire Commissioner Charles Clanage supplemented his remarks with a hearty address. In his address. President Delfs paid a high tribute to Chief Russell, of the Kalamazoo department, and his men. The following officers were elected: President. Assistant Chief Charles Crumpton, of Bay City; first vice-president, Chief Charles H. Russell, of Kalamazoo; second vice-president, Chief George Langdon. of Cheboygan; third vice-president, thief William Reed, of Petoskey; secretary and treasurer, A. P.
