Western New York Volunteers The thirteenth annual convention of the Western New York volunteer firemen will be held in Rochester on July 30 and 31 and bids fair to be the largest assemblage of volunteer firemen ever seen in this section. The Buffalo exempts expect to make things lively during the convention. The Buffalo Times says: “The New York Central Railroad has promised to provide its magnificently equipped $100,000 commissary car to be attached to the train which will carry the Buffalo Exempt Firemen’s Association and about 500 of its friends to Rochester on July 31. The Buffalo exempts are to take part in the big parade of the Western New York Foremen’s Association on that day, and now that they have secured the famous commissary car they expect to make this the happiest one-day trip of their lives.
