Fire Department Doings The estimated losses by fire in the United States and Canada, reported for the week ending June 24, amounted to $2,304,000. Kenosha, Wis., will add to the number of its firemen and increase their pay. The New Orleans, La., fire loss for May was $9,392, involving an insurance of $693,000. The only motor vehicles in Duluth, Minn., allowed to use sirens are those of the fire department. The Illinois Fire Prevention Association has inaugurated a campaign of education for the prevention of fires. All the old officers oi the Middletown, N. Y , fire department, with Chief Higham, have been unanimously reelected. At Belle Fourche, S. Dak., where the fire department is volunteer, an up-to-date fire alarm system has been installed.
