Water Bids Opened Norwalk, O.—Bids for furnishing water pipe were received as follows: Massillon Iron & Steel Co., four-inch pipe, 22 pounds per foot, $24.10 per ton: six-inch pipe. 33 pounds per foot, $23.10 per ton; fittings. $50 per ton; R. D. Wood & Co., Philadelphia, four-inch pipe, $28 per ton; sixinch pipe, $26.50 per ton; fittings $55 per ton. Washington, D. C.— The Mersey Mfg. Co., of South Boston, Mass., has been awarded the contract by the commisi ours of the District of Columbia for furnishing and delivering 10,000 ⅝-inch and 250 ¾-inch water meters for use in the water department. Holyoke, Mass.—Contract for pipe for Smith’s Ferry extension was awarded to the United State Cast Iron Pipe &Foundry Co., at $22.60 per ton and to the Chapman Valve Company for valves at $11, $16 and $22 for the three sizes.
