Water Rates The Palo Alto (Cal.) city council has reduced the city water rate front 20 to 12 cents per 1,000 gallons under the municipal water service plan. The new schedule provides for a service shedmule of 50 cents a month, with a minimum service charge of $1 for each consumer. The water department of Bristol, Tenn., is engaged in re-rating the entire city. It has been found that the present rating is inaccurate andthat members of the Iroard of aldermen who have looked into the matter estimate that the city is losing several thousand dollars annually in revenue to this department. Sheboygan, Wis., is starting action to reduce the water rates to consumers by a 25 per cent reduction on all flat rates and also on meter rates above 8 cents per 1,000 gallons.
