Wisconsin Paid Firemen’s Association The following resolutions were unanimously adopted by the Wisconsin Paid Firemen’s Association, in convention assembled at Wausau, July 24, 1912. I was directed to send it to all mayors and common councils of cities in the state and to petition them to give it their careful consideration to the end that the two platoon system for firemen may be adopted in this state. All the chiefs and rank and file of their departments are members of this organization, and I wish to state that there were 21 chiefs present when these resolutions were adopted without a dissenting vote: Whereas, Custom has established a system whereby paid members of fire departments have been compelled to be on duty practically all the time; and Whereas, For years paid members of the fire departments have been endeavoring to devise a system commensurate with the demands of fire duty, and…
