Annual Meeting of Louisiana Firemen An unusually large number of delegates were in attendance at the seventh annual convention of the Louisiana State Firemen’s Association, held in Plaquemine on August 31. The delegates were welcomed to the convention by Peter M. Wilbert. who spoke for Mayor D. L. Reville. Philip A. Wilbert, chief of the Plaquemine volunteer fire department, welcomed the delegates on behalf of the firemen. President James B. Heaney responded, as did also F. E. Fullerton, of Winnfield; A. S. Brown, of Opelousas; J. H. Sandrock. of New Orleans; Charles Reviere, of Thibodaux. and William Holmes, of Alexandria, vice-president of the association. Following the speech making was the calling of the roll of committees and delegates, after which the meeting was adjourned until 2.30 p. m. The association convened again at 2.30 in the afternoon.
