New York School for Firemen One of the most useful works of former Fire Commissioner Waldo’s regime as head of the Yew York City fire department was the establishment of the fire department school, which, in addition to the effective training it has afforded to the home firemen, has gradually developed into an institution for the instruction of fire chiefs and other firelighters in the United States.
