Fire Hose Suit Ended After several witnesses had been examined before Justice Hotchkiss in the Supreme Court last week the action brought by the Windsor Fire Appliance Company of this city against the United Globe Rubber Manufacturing Company was settled and the case dismissed. The action grew out of the fire hose investigation before the commissioner of accounts immediately following the fire that destroyed the Parker building, at Fourth avenue and Nineteenth street. New York, in 1908. because of the bursting of many feet of hose. The citv instituted a suit against the Windsor Fire Appliance Company to recover $25,000 for the bursting of hose, and a settlement was made by M. F. Loughlin, president of the company. This suit was brought to recover from the United Globe Rubber Manufacturing Company the sum for which Mr. Loughlin settled the city’s suit, it being claimed by Mr. Loughlin that bis company…
