A Good Thing from Minneapolis Chief Ringer, of the Minneapolis fire department is certainly making good with his department, and he has special reason to be proud of his “flying squadron.” The chief is ever on the alert for ideas whereby he can get his machines to the fire with greater degree of safety and still maintain the speed. His latest idea to be put into effect is one on the lighting of the car at night. It consists of two red dash lamps, electrically lighted, in addition to his large front lamps. The red light gives the public the opportunity of discerning the fire apparatus at night from among the host of autos on the streets, which are fitted alike with large front lamps similar to the ones of the fire car.
