Tests of Nott Engine at Milwaukee Tests of Nott four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines were made at Milwaukee April 22, as follows: Four-cylinder machine, 600 gallons capacity, drafting water from cistern: Test 1: Two lines, 400 feet each, 2 1/2-inch hose, 1 1/8-inch S. B. nozzles; pump pressure, 160 pounds; nozzle pressure, 70 pounds; vacuum, 15 inches; gallons delivered, 626. Test 2: Same lines of hose siamesed into 1 5/8inch S. B. nozzle, Eastman deluge set; pump pressure, 140 pounds; nozzle pressure, 66 pounds; vacuum, 16 inches; gallons delivered, 636. Test 3: One 800-foot line with 1 1/4-inch S. B. nozzle; pump pressure, 225 pounds; nozzle pressure, 55 pounds; vacuum, 10 inches; gallons delivered, 343, Engine at no time exceeded 850 revolutions a minute.
