Water Supply for a Quartette of Cities In the search for an adequate supply of water for Watervliet, Green Island. Cohoes and Waterford, engineers in the employ of the New York State conservation commission were impressed with the French Mills springs, long known as a possible supply for Watervliet. These springs, a dozen miles from the city, were first brought to attention by City Engineer Keis, of Watervliet. French Mills springs are in Albany county, and the quality of water will compare favorably with any known water in that section. The State engineers favor Charlton, in Saratoga county, as a source of supply for Watervliet, Green Island, Cohoes and Waterford, and if the four communities were to combine the cost would not be large.
