WATER WORKS NEWS ITEMS CURRENT DEPARTMENT NEWS Belton, Tex., has voted $65,000 in bonds for the extension of the water system and street improvement. Fort Scott, Kan., 10,000 population, appropriates $4,000 annually to its municipal plant for the service. Mason City, Ia., reports that it covers hydrant rentals by a three or four mill levy “on the property within hydrant reach.” Work has commenced on the wells for new water system of Fennville, Mich., and the buildings for the plant have been started. vs the result of a special election held July 24 at Fast Grand Kapids, Mich., that town is to have a water works system at a cost of $35,000. The new reservoir at Gilroy, Cal., is nearly complete. The reservoir is expected to contain about 9,000,000 gallons, and when complete it will be one of the finest reservoirs in the State.
