First Vice-President President Magee—The next office to be filled is that of first vice-president. What is the pleasure of the convention? Ex-Chief Johnston, of Crookston, Minn.—Mr. President: Following up the precedent established with reference to the office of president, I wish to place in nomination one of the young chiefs of the United States, a man who has worked his way up the ladder rung by rung until now he stands upon the second rung front the top, a man well qualified to fill the duties, and I refer to Hugo R. Delfs, of Lansing, Mich., for the position of first vice-president. Chief Boyd, of Knoxville, Tenn.—I move that nominations be closed and the secretary cast the ballot of the association for Chief Delfs. (The motion was unanimously carried.)
