FIRE DEPARTMENT DOINGS DEPARTMENT NEWS Chief Wesley Baumberger, of Wheeling, W. Va., has resigned. Circleville, O., firemen now have 24 hours instead of 12 hours off duty every week. The annual inspection of the Rochester, N. Y., department will take place October 15. There will be no parade. The first Friday in November is Fire Prevention Day in Nebraska, which was created by law and is known as State Fire Day. Chief Wilks, of Vicksburg. Miss., is again on duty after a week in a sanitarium, as the result of attending the chiefs’ convention. Chief Reynolds, of Augusta, Ga., has adopted the rules of the Southern Bell Telephone Company for resuscitation from electric shocks for his department. The Fall River, Mass., fire commissioners have received a signed protest from 28 mill treasurers in that city against their action calling for the resignation of Chief Davol.
