FILTRATION Filtration is under consideration at Vergennes. Vt. Peabody, Mass., is having plans made for a filtration system. The New York Water Purification Company has been incorporated to manufacture machinery’ for purification of water by filtration. Its capital is $1,000,000. Water Commissioner Wall, of St. Louis, has introduced a bill in the Municipal Assembly to appropriate $535,000 for the completion of the filtration plant now under way at the Chain of Rocks. George W. Fuller, the New York filtration expert, on whose advice Water Engineer Whitman, of Baltimore, changed the plans for the filtration plant from a sand filter to a mechanical one, is assisting the water board of Baltimore in its investigation to determine whether the filtration plans adopted by the city are infringements on private patents.
