FILTRATION DEPARTMENT INFORMATION San Diego, Cal., has voted a $60,000 bond issue for a filtration plant. Mount Airy, N. C., during the year installed an up-to-date filtering plant, costing $7,000. The report of William Van Arnum, chemist in charge of the Cohoes, N. Y., filter plant, showed that during the last half of December an average of 6,630,000 gallons was filtered daily. The Champaign & Urbana Water Company, of Urbana, Ill., has completed the readjustment of its new filter plant. This work has been done under the careful supervision of the State water survey. The chief chemist and one of his assistants have visited the plant and made tests. Dr. H. B. Schacklett, Secretary of the New Albany, Ind., Board of Health, has served upon the New Albany Water Company a notice from the Indiana State Board of Health requiring the company to install a filtration plant in connection with…
